Yes, MBTA provides certifications for various occupations to meet U.S. labor market needs. We offer National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) aligned training and assessments to ensure students earn industry-recognized credentials.
ACT WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system that measures foundational “hard” and “soft” skills. MBTA incorporates these assessments into our curriculum; for example, students in our “She Lifts” program graduate with both a forklift certification and the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).
Program lengths vary by discipline. Our forklift operator training is typically a one-month program. Other trade programs like Automotive Service Technology or Electrical may have different clock-hour requirements based on the specific certification level.
MBTA serves a diverse range of students, including:
- New Entrants: High school graduates, dropouts, or those unemployed for 2+ years.
- Dislocated Workers: Individuals laid off within the last two years.
